Important notice

We are lucky enough to receive lots of wonderful work here at Tippy Tarsy Books, but we are only a small story-house and unfortunately just don’t have the people power to read everything. 

We are therefore not accepting submissions at the moment.

How to send your submission to us

All our books begin with a brilliant idea. We are therefore open to innovative suggestions and submissions from authors. To ensure your proposal reaches us successfully, please follow these guidelines.

Book categories

First of all, keep in mind that Tippy Tarsy Books is a publisher of children’s books only. We specialise in high-quality fiction books for readers between 6 and 16 years of age (children’s books, middle grade, young adult). We do not publish mass-market books, such as pop-ups, activity books, sticker books, colouring books or licensed books.

What to include in your submission

Keep the submission as brief as you can, but remember to include:

• A suggested title and subtitle
• A short overview of the content (maximum two pages)
• First 10-30 pages of your manuscript
• An indication of the audience you have in mind (target age range)
• A very brief biography of you and, if relevant, your co-author(s)
• Your contact details

You do not have to provide illustrations. However, if you have some illustrations you would like to include with your submission, you may send detailed sketches or scans of the original art.

Please send your submission as an email with attachments and make sure that the total size does not exceed 5MB. Emails with file attachments larger than that will not reach us. Do not use a file transfer service as the download link may expire before we have the opportunity to review your proposal. 

What happens next?

Each proposal we receive is forwarded to the relevant member of our team for review. However, due to the high volume of proposals we receive, we cannot provide feedback for every submission. If we are interested in your proposal, we will get in touch with you within three months. If you don’t hear from us within this time, then we are sorry to say that this means a ‘no’ from us on this occasion. 

Please do not send any submissions by post, as these will not be considered and original materials cannot be returned.
